Nice neighborhood, and friendly neighbors. Management is helpful and polite too, but the apartment building itself has a huge roach infestation. I lived there and there I did treatment of my own for it and they also treated the property but the roaches were everywhere. Little baby ones all over the place even in my fridge despite me cleaning more frequently. I would keep little to no food because of it and didn’t stay long. In my time at Oakwood I dealt with roaches, rats, and rude management. The location is great and the neighbors are nice, and they responded to maintenance requests rather quickly. However, the building itself is pretty shabby and some units have all sorts of gaps and poorly constructed areas especially in the kitchens. Ms Karen, the landlord, is just..terrible. She’s so hateful and picky and choosy about what she does and doesn’t allow. She charges people extra under the table and will evict you (or threaten to) when there are people in the complex doing things she’s not even aware of. It’s cheap but try not to interact with her. She also goes into our apartment when we’re not there for some reason and it’s weird.
