Great dining experience, and the best Sunday brunch in Louisville (if not the South) – An incredible dining experience, great service, great wine list, great food. I've eaten in restaurants all over the world, and Louisville is lucky in having a nice bunch of wonderful restaurants, from Lilly's to 610 Magnolia, Limestone and the Oak Room. The Crown Jewel of the HIlton Family – As a +20 year Carlton Club member (the Ritz in Chicago), there are very few combination hotel/restaurants outside of NY, LA & Chicago, I would rate as highly as the Seelbach/Oakroom. Their service is impeccable; their chef provides a remarkable flair & consistent quality and their extensive wine list allows even the most discriminating for nothing short of a magnificent, magical dining experience. Old-fashioned elegance and traditional fine dining, Kentucky-style. – The Scene The Oakroom in the historic Seelbach Hotel is definitive in turn-of-the-century splendor. Brass chandeliers, ornate wood accents and jazzy background music create an atmosphere of refined dining, with heaps of Louisville charm. Romantic resturant with rooms – The setting and mood in the Oakroom is unparrelled in Louisville. The food is some of the finest I have ever eaten and the wine list can compete with any five star. Ample time is given between courses, allowing for good conversation, and one may cap off the evening by staying in one of the fine rooms in the Hotel.
Best Atmosphere Around – I have dined at several fine restaraunts around the country, and believe me that this one is a bargain. The tone is elegant and subdued. The tables are well spaced and comfortable. The staff is courteous and sharp. The only glitch was that after we were done we had to wait 15 minutes for the waiter to ask if we wanted the bill. The best of the best – I believe this is one of the best in the country, not just Louisville. I take my family to the Oakroom ever time we have something to celebrate because the food, atmosphere, service and the whole experience is wonderful. We feel "Special" when we dine at the Oakroom and you will too. I gurantee it.
catchy title – The Oakroom has been the nicest dining experience I have ever had. I don't understand how Azalea could beat the Oakroom for the most romantic resturant... this floors me. At the Oakroom you sit in the most comfortable chairs, and with it's low lighting and seating position you feel like you're all alone with your loved ones. A++
The finest in Elegant Dining – This is a simply superb restaurant. The staff was very polite, attentive, and unobtrusive. The table was decorated with rose petals, as they knew the evening was a special occaision. We had time to enjoy conversation as well as dinner. The entrees were masterfully prepared, and the dessert was sinfully delicious. The ambiance was perfect for a romantic evening, topped of with Brandy Alexanders and great music from the grand piano in the foyer. Don't miss this experience!
