Oakland Clinic needs to take better care of their patients AND their providers, quit hiding behind tech and AI and be more transparent about the type of services that they offer. Your platform is very disorienting for vulnerable people. Virtual therapy is counter-indicated for some mental health disorders, namely psychiatric disorders. Insist on in-office, in-person sessions. My issues are with the billing practices here. I was told I needed to put my cc on file to automatically charge the co-pays for my visits. Understandable. What is not acceptable is that they charged my cc a week in advance of an appointment. I ended up canceling the appointment because it wasn't the right fit with the therapist. I am still in the process of getting a refund back for that pre-charged copay. I was told the refund has to be reviewed by their corporate office and can take 6 to 8 weeks! Their billing practices are horrible, almost crooked. After changing jobs and getting confirmation that they would take my new insurance, they waited a full year to tell me they, in fact, did not take my new insurance. I was hit with a $2,000 bill. When I disputed their billing, I was told that there were several errors made by previous employees and that someone would reach out to me to work out the proper billing. Not a great experience. No one picks up the phone, you could try all day. You’re required to keep your CC on file, but they do not charge it within an acceptable timeframe. They do not have enough therapists for their office caseload. I switched providers months ago and today received a call that I missed my appointment. I liked Luiza, but cannot recommend this practice because it is disorganized and understaffed.
