Good Italian I love Oakland Pizza! When I go there I have such a hard time deciding what to get because everything is so good. It is such a nice little restaurant in a strip mall but it totally does not feel like you are in a strip mall. I like to go there with friends and sit and feast!
Best Pizza on Planet Earth! Make the pilgramage at least once before you die. – the sauce....the cheese....the crust.... unbelievable! if you live anywhere withing 2000 miles of this place, GO! The italian food is great too! Try the Lasagna! Hero #1 (Italian Combo) is my favorite. Better than any ive had anywhere else. Ive gone away to college and moved back and recently I've moved to a Pizza Wasteland (California). The first place I ALWAYS go straight from Newark airport is Oakland Pizza.
EXCELLENT pizza and good entrees/sandwiches. The pizza is definitely worth the drive from Ridgewood to Oakland, and I make this trip too often for my health. (Now that I've discovered this restaurant, I really have no desire to waste my calories on anyone else's pizza.) Most of the staff are very friendly, efficient, and helpful. Usually the atmosphere is nice, pleasant, and relaxing as well. Also, the garlic knots, pepperoni rolls, and other items that "hang out" by the pizza are a nice, special treat.
Gotta Love It! – I have been going to Oakland Pizza since it was a small pizza store with booths and it fed the hungry shoppers of Sears Surplus! The pizza is ALWAYS the best. Love the pasta too. Lively crowd of locals and nice staff!
OH DA CALZONE!! – While Oakland Pizza's pizza is REALLY good, you are foolish to not get one of their AMAZING calzones. They are HUGE and are the best tasting calzones I have ever had. They give you SOOOOOOOO much for their money. These need to invest in some seeded semolina Italian bread. Their bread is OK...but they could use some more ITALIAN bread. They also shouldn't wrap their hero's in trays because they become soggy by the time you get home. They should be wrapped in aluminum foil.
