I lived in one of the units with Oak Park Apartments for 2 years. In terms of positive things: the building was beautiful and the location was great! I also appreciated the staff - Tracy was especially wonderful and responded quickly. However, there are things that kept happening that were so difficult to live with. 1) I had a parking space in an individual garage which opened up to the alley behind the building, and maintenance workers kept parking behind my garage spot, making it impossible to leave and enter my garage. RENTERS BEWARE *I am writing on another profile due to fear of retaliation and to avoid their snide rebuttals to defend themselves.* After years of paying rent on time and watching my rent increase by 22%, I found a nonrenewal notice taped to my mailbox. No email. No certified letter. Just a paper slip, violating their own lease terms. They don't care about long term tenants. They care about turnover and relisting your unit at a higher price. It’s nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone to view an apartment. I’ve called, left multiple voicemails, and submitted several inquiries, but I haven’t heard anything back. What’s the point of offering online viewing requests if no one responds? Update 7/25/25: I've also inquired back in June and I've called multiple times only to be left with an answering machine...
You should be ashamed of the terrible customer service you provide to the public. I filled out my application online, then proceeded to pay the $50 reservation fee, and now I'm trying to contact you and you never answer. It has been impossible to communicate with you, neither by email nor by phone calls. I would like to schedule a visit to the apartment, but this has been unsuccessful
