If I could give zero stars, I would. I had called in advance for a basic, 8 inch cake. The woman over the phone took my order, but couldn’t give me the final total for the product before a charge on my card she later called me back with a final total at that time I did not have my card call back tomorrow morning the woman was OK with it and asked me to call back tomorrow at 10 AM. The next morning, I had called 10x between their opening hours and 1pm. At that point, I had to drive over to the store to give my card information. The manager called the owner to see if they could still fulfill the order, and the manager stated that i would have to pay an additional 25% for a rushed order. I was appalled, considering they were the ones who weren’t taking the call they instructed me to make. I, myself, called the owner, Matt who proceed to place the blame on me for not having a Visa of MasterCard... instead of realizing that it is his bakery that he is depriving of staff. Matt proceeded to tell me that he didn’t want to pay staff to stay late.... which made me quickly realize the selfishness behind the whole experience. Matt dug his heels in and refused to fulfill the order that I was promised. Thankfully, Sweet Connections bakery took my order with less than 24hours notice... and the cake was half the price! I am sad to end my period of loyalty with OakMill Bakery... but it is of upmost importance that I support businesses who support their customers, too. I truly hope that the company takes this feedback and strives to improve their customer service... such a horrible experience.

It was my 1st time purchasing one of their store cakes and I don’t have enough words to compliment on the quality and freshness of their products, as well as their variety and friendly service. I arrived at their location in Niles within about 30 min of their closing time, and the service was attentive and friendly. I’ve ordered the Strawberry and Pineapple cake and OMG this cake is delicious! So moist and fresh! I’ve also had their pecan pie squares and it was right on point. I will definitely be back for more.

Our wedding cake was one of the best I’ve ever had. I’m the bride and probably biased but our guests commented on how amazing it was as well! From the tasting to how the cake turned out in line with our “Star Wars” themed wedding, the experience was great all around. We also had a gluten free cake that I was pleasantly surprised by and hope to go back to replicate it for our 1 year anniversary. Gluten free baked goods are hard to get right but it was amazing. Highly recommended!

You'll want your wedding cake from here! It was such an easy and enjoyable experience doing our cake tasting and the end result was incredible. Our cake looked absolutely beautiful and tasted absolutely amazing as well. By the end of the night it was all gone our guests loved it so much. I can't recommend this place enough! Just a great experience all around.
