Great paczkis – On Fat Tuesday I was given 2 paczkis - one from here and one from another bakery. This place wins by a mile. Where the #2 paczki was huge and sloppy, Oak Mill's was perfectly round and nicely sized. Where the #2 weighed probably a half pound from the mass of filling, Oak Mill's filling was just enough, encased within a pastry that was less donut and more like brioche; sweet but not cloying.
Holy Moly! Everything was scrumptious! It was also extremely fresh (I'm almost positive it just came out of the oven). We ended up choosing vanilla and chocolate cake, raspberry filling, chocolate ganache, and vanilla and chocolate filling because we couldn't decide which flavors we liked more. Everything was light and fluffy, and the fillings were the perfect amount of sweet, leaving your mouth feeling just delightful!
I love this place it is one of the best as far as variety and authenticity!
In my opinion there are only few nations in the world who are good at pastries and that list shall include Central European countries such as Poland. Every year, somewhere in August, I start rubbing my hands contemplating about my birthday cake to be ordered at Oak Mill. Last year I had chocolate layered cake with cocoa filling. the worst place ever – Don't ever get you're wedding cake from there, the cake was dry, exactly like the person who tried to help my fiance and i at our tasting. There is no such thing as customer service here.....
Ok if you want bulk manufacturing... – What it was and what it is now....definitely not the same...Is how I would describe my experience with Oak Mill bakery.
