Awesome !!!! I have been a member for over 10 years and the fitness center has changed drastically since the new owners took over. Carolina Fitness looks sooo much better, they keep the equipment up, and keep everything working to the best of their ability, which to me is very important. There are Great people, Great classes, and people who really care. avoid unless necessary Carolina Fitness is in a good location and has convenient parking. The main benefit is the availability of equipment and machines and flexible hours. If you are willing to commit for a couple of years, you should get a rate between $20-$30/month. The main disadvantage is the cleanliness. The other major disadvantage is if you are not able to commit to such a period. Watch out for the workers trying to make a ridiculous deal, and then saying "corporate" "is willing to take it down". Been at other Gyms in the area and we are HAPPY !!! We have been at other gyms in the area and we are very happy at Carolina Fitness.... The classes are great, the instructors rock!!! The staff and the members are very friendly...We have no complaints, something was broken and it was fixed with in a week..The place stays clean...We are glad we made the move..
Another contract rip-off I wanted to join my local gym for a few months after an injury that kept me off my bike. I was pleasantly surprised (and, I see now, very naive) that an employee so willingly agreed, saying I had only to request and send in a cancellation form whenever I decided to cancel. I got this in writing , but guess what, their letter didn't really mean what I took it to mean...The gym has even ignored a "cease-and-desist" letter from my attorney! This place is still in business?!?! I can not believe this establishment is still open. I agree with the rest of the reviewers, the owners are scam artist. When the owners and other employees have to resort to selling gym memberships in bars, you know unscrupulous business practice is not too far behind. Great gym for me... I go to Carolina Fitness for a few reasons: 1. it's affordable (what I pay equals what I get) 2. it's close to home 3. it has childcare and my kids like going there This is not a fancy gym, but I have been going there for 2 years and am satisfied with what I get for what I pay. The childcare is nothing but babysitting, but the staff has watched my children and kept them safe and my kids really enjoy going there. Well Maintained Service is excellent, facilities are clean and well maintained. I love this place! Been to several other gyms in the area and Kinetix has been the best by far. Staff consistently cleans and circulates throughout the gym. Plus my kids love the child care, they get upset when it is time to leave.
Keep duplicates of the contract and read the fine print Equipment was OK - pretty bare bones, but workable. Yoga class was top notch and had a loyal following. This gym will work out for you OK if you never plan to cancel your membership. Have been round and round and round with these guys trying to end my contract. I'd recommend joining the YMCA or someplace else just for that reason alone. Whatever benefit there is in joining is outweighed by the hassles and cost trying to end your membership.
good bargain I don't know anything about the problems some people seem to have with canceling, but I paid upfront for a year and a half and got a great deal of about $23/month. I guess if you are the type who constantly needs to be pampered and likes to imagine you're living in L.A. or New York or something, this place is not for you. But if you are budget-conscious, don't need frills, and are just interested in EXERCISING and keeping fit, this is a great place.
