Last visit was one of the most heartbreaking and frustrating experiences I’ve had as a patient. I was only 2 minutes late, and it wasn’t even my fault. The line at the kiosk was extremely long. When I finally checked in, the kiosk clearly said I was all set and that I just needed to wait for my name to be called. Wanting to make sure everything was okay, I asked one of the staff members. My health insurance isn’t great, so I had limited options. The office is pretty and contrary to other peoples experiences, I found the front desk staff to be nice and accommodating. My problem is with the OBs. You see a different one every appointment for your pregnancy, and to be honest they are bullies. I feel I was forced to have a c section at 37 weeks…when I pushed back over and over they kept saying it was full term and that my baby would not go to the NICU. I feel like I’m falling through the cracks here. The individuals working at this practice are amazing and caring, but the NYU system seems to want to leave its patients behind. The summary is they’re too busy to book all my appointments. As a first time mom carrying multiples, I have a lot of appointments. They were unable to schedule one of them, and promised to call me once I got off the waitlist. I never got a call and that week went by, no appointment. This is my third pregnancy at NYU. I’m nearly at a loss of words as I write this because this 3rd time not the charm and my experience has been the most awful experience ever. First let’s start with the fact that I have had nearly zero continuity of care, second the teams that manage specific doctor scheduling (not the schedulers you get when you initially call) NEVER call back.
