I have been using the services of Nurse Next Door for my mother for over 2 years now. Mum's weekly carers are so professional and friendly and very bright company for Mum. NND are always flexible and responsive and it puts my mind at ease knowing that Mum's care is top notch and that she is happy in their company. Mum made a decision to stay at home and not move to retirement care. Nurse Next Door has allowed Mum's wishes to be a reality, supporting not only Mum, but we as Mum's family also. My experience was quite different from other reviews which were glowing. Where are the not so good reviews? I had a carer come for 7 months just to do basic personal care. When Mum had a small bed sore, I was told we don't do wound management which I was quite surprised as another review mentioned they did? The carer did what she wanted and not always what I instructed her to do. Her response was I won't be forcing her. After contacting many providers NND Canberra were the only one that were willing to provide the service and were still using the NDIS for nursing support. I was requiring a nurse to perform, support and trouble shoot a procedure for my son who has a disability in his home. The service was set up with ease. I have also found the communication between the agency and my son, and I has been excellent. NND have provided a valuable care option for my mum in her home. With NND as a part of our regular care team, I feel confident there is also back up with experienced carers when we need it.
