Rude bouncers
I’ve visited Nowadays several times and had always considered it a safe and welcoming space. However, tonight’s experience was incredibly disappointing. After purchasing tickets, we were approached with a gatekeeping attitude, essentially a "who do you know here?" moment, and because we didn’t recognize the DJ by name, we were removed from the line. Horrible, pretentious people at the door that will not let you in unless you know exactly which DJs are playing at that exact moment, regardless if you came to see a different artist. This establishment is the antithesis of what the New York music scene is about - discovering new, unknown artists at fun venues with your friends. I was in a group of 6 people and Nowadays bouncers cost every DJ there the opportunity to gain more fans tonight. Absolute disgrace of a music venue.
