We had such a great dinner at Nova Europa tonight! We went with my father and my in-laws, who are Portuguese, and everyone loved it. The food is authentic Portuguese food and absolutely delicious. The owner, Manuel, was SO freakin nice and made us feel so welcome. My daughter loved the shrimp and caldo verde, which says a lot because toddlers can be the toughest food critics 😂. We had such a lovely dinner at Nova Europa tonight! Manuel, the chef, recommended the bacalhau à Brás—a codfish dish that wasn’t even on the menu—as well as the frango assado and both were absolutely delicious. Manuel stopped by our table several times throughout the evening and shared some of the history and stories behind the dishes, which made the experience feel especially warm and personal. Wonderful food, incredibly welcoming service and such a memorable evening. We’ll definitely be back. 10/10!
Nova Europa is a hidden gem! I’ve been several times, and the food is consistently fantastic with very reasonable prices. On our last visit, the owner and head chef, Manuel, served us directly—be sure to ask for his recommendations! As part of his culinary training, he practiced at one of the original pasteis de nata bakeries in Portugal, and his pasteis de nata for dessert were phenomenal. This is a warm, authentic spot that I highly recommend to anyone in the area!
