I am another daughter who nearly lost her mother due to Dr. Boulad's benign neglect, presumably that is up to the practice's "standard of care." Two long stories regarding my mother I won't detail publicly but were both very preventable with earlier action and prompt attention, and I have my own (non-life-threatening) woes from when she was briefly my PCP. Dr our Boulad is caring ,kind, wonderful Dr who takes time to listen and has wonderful bedside manner. She is extremely knowledgeable takes the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. I am so grateful to have found her. KU Med has been great to work with in finding Doctors in KC. It’s always a challenge when you move to a new city to find all the right people for you needs. They made the process so easy from the start. 5 stars for Dr Boulad & KU Med.
My dad and stepmom both go to Dr. Boulad and both say she is very pleasant, but sometimes, nice just isn't enough. My stepmom went in to see Dr. Boulad on a Tuesday because she was having heart pains and wanted to get it checked out. Dr. Boulad dismissed it as heartburn and increased the dosage of her heartburn medication. Friday morning, she was having such severe heart pain that she called an ambulance. I was looking for a new doctor and I found a great one! You have to be able to put a lot of trust in a doctor and that can be hard to do but with Dr Boulad you can tell that she has your best interest in mind. I never feel rushed and she has mastered the art of explaining things as far as you want to go. I have been seeing her @3 years now.
Bedside manner is awful, very cold-short with answers. There is a feeling of ego with a condescending tone when she speaks to the patient. I felt very rushed at appointments with her. Did not go back after 3 appointments and found a new doctor. Interesting enough, I had interactions with her (within community) her demeanor is the same outside of her office. Some people should not be in medicine.
