Best night out – I love Notaro's I love the food, the people, the ambiance. The staff is great and treat their guests so well. The pricies are terrific and the quality is just as terrific. On Tuesday nights Sandy Jordan, a wonderful singer and entertainer, hosts a fabulous night of jazz and singing. The Larry Luger Trio plays all evening and they are top-notch musicians. Guest singers come in each Tuesday and add to the fun. Notaro's is a restaurant where I can relax, eat great food, and enjoy a wonderful night out.
Hidden Treasure – An amazing restaurant! The food was amazing. A delight and complement to Northern Italian cuisine. The restaurant was quiet and serene, quite typical for a Wednesday night almost anywhere in the city, but this restaurant shined to present it's self as the 5 star restaurant it is. Their dirty grey goose martini was top notch and their service was even better. The waiter made my girlfriend and I feel as if we were the most important customers there. It was also my birthday, and we were served a tiramisu that ... read more
Great Italian food and great American Music – I discovered this restaurant through a business contact 3 years back. I since bring all my business friends and family here for dinner. The food si consistantly very good. I love their fish and ask the waiter Peter what is special for the night. I am never disappointed. The music on Tuesday nights is the best deal in the city. The Larry Luger Trio plays there and are topnotch. The singer Sandy Jordan is so good she should be famous. She has friends who drop by and sing also and t... read more
Our Favorite NY spot for good food and good music – We have been going to Notaro for 10 years and love it. A few years back they added music on Tuesday nights. We go there as many Tuesdays as we can to hear our favorite Gershwin and all the top American Songbook hits .......The Trio is fantastic and the singer Sandy one of the best I have ever heard. Famous folk drop in also and sing. We caught Jane Powell a year back. You have to go and hear them and order the fish, or the pasta, the steak and do not forget dessert. The foo... read more
What a night!!! – A friend invite me to dinner and he decided on Notaro because it was convinient for him, after dinner to take the midtown tunnel to his home in Long Island. It was a Tuesday night, and what a surprise, the food, the service were excellent. Then the "shot in the arm", they had live music. A great Jazz group, guitar, base, drums and a fabulous singer named Sandy Jordan! And for the price!!! There is nothing in or around Manhattan like this. Since, I have been back several times on Tuesdays to eat great food a... read more
Amazing Italian great atmosphere – Thought me and my buddy would try a bit of Italian down in Murray Hill, and we stumbled upon this place. It was great. The food was so fresh and the drinks were made well. I recommend the penne vodka.
Big Mistake - Really bad food at astronomical prices – There are so many great Italian restaurants in Murray Hill, like Pino's, La Giara, Alba's, with authentic Italian chefs and staff and delicious food. I decided to try Notaro's. It was dark inside, and the service was awful. For almost $25, I got an antipasto type sandwich and a soft drink.
Worst and Most Overpriced Italian food – When you go to an Italian restaurant (I was persuaded to go by someone who said they had improved their food, since I didn't like it my first try) you don't expect to come out with an MSG headache...not after spending 18 dollars on linguini & clam sauce and finding out for that price, that they don't use fresh clams. Worst part - Manager admitted they now used canned sauce, did nothing for me, and said he would have the owner call me. No call. Soooo many great Italian restaurants in t... read more
my favorite italian restaurant – Everything from the decor to the service makes Notaro?s my absolute favorite Italian restaurant. I take everyone I love. The Notaro experience begins with a warm greeting by staff at the door. I personally love to sit at the back area next to the fireplace (this can very romantic when with a significant other, and is very cozy with family and friends). One of my favorite dishes is the Shrimp Scampi followed closely by Bocconcino de Pollo. And to satisfy my sweet tooth, I have the tiramisu. Ex... read more
