Charges you to clean your apartment and uses up your "deposit" even if the place is completely spotless. They are misleading by calling it a deposit. If they are going to use that money to "clean" the place then call it a fee and don't lie about it. Deposit law in CA says it cant be used for wear and tear but does Northwood care? no. They surely calculate this as part of their revenue (financially acceptable? sure, legal? possibly, ethical? 100% not). EDIT: Unfortunately there was mis communication on both sides. We also did make attempts to contact SMUD and they informed us that the account would be put in our name on 11/29/2021 per the request that was faxed to them. Management is not the worst here but they could be better. We have been renting here for almost 2 months now. When we moved in we were told that the security deposit was $700.00. Management has definitely improved since living here and they always fix whatever broke in my apartment usually the same day! Down the street from Arden mall and everything is close. Best apartment I’ve stayed at so far!
Lived here over a year the management is good especially when you have an issue with the apartment they are on it and wear safety masks. Very happy about that especially during the pandemic! The apartments are up to date as you can see in my pics. I even referred my family and friends and now my close friend lives here and is happy too.
