Wanted to share my positive experience having an oral procedure by Dr. Hovey. Besides enjoying his periodontics expertise and skill in the procedure and results, the clinical and administrative staff at the clinic are all very professional. It has been easy to schedule and reach the team with any questions. Communication has been strong. This is a dental specialty clinic and see a fair number of poor reviews about costs and such. I was send to Dr. Hovey by my dentist with a written referral for a evaluation of one specific tooth, Dr. Hovey ordered a ct-scan of this singe tooth and then, to my surprise, he ordered another full mouth ct-scan (regardless of the double radiation and proof that ct-scans can cause cancer, see ‘JAMA Internal Study‘). I don’t recommend going here unless you want to spend a lot of money - to potentially have nothing done. I was recommended to go here by my dentist, she felt I needed to have a tooth removed and then an implant placed. I went to my appointment and then within an hour of it (and them telling me that all about the procedure I would be getting done), they called and told me they decided against it, gave me no reason as to why and they haven’t spoken to me since then (approximately 6 months). I am confident that the care I received here is as good as can be performed anywhere. The periodontist was efficient and cheerful. However, I have never been jerked around so much as I have been by the people in this office. One, they were unclear about what procedures would be performed at my initial examination and what I would have to pay.
