The past few months, I have been fighting with billing. They send an email once or twice a week saying I owe money for my co-pay deductible. Repeatedly I have provided proof that I paid during my visit. Yet they seem to begin refusing to take any action to fix it. I can assure you that next year I will have nothing to do with any Doctors associated with Northside. Yes, that means several doctor groups that I have been going to for a very, very long time.
When my wife was dying of cancer, the business office turned her over to a collection agency because of clerical error they had made. I called dozens of times to straighten it out and they wouldn't call me back. It took 6 months to clear it up. Then when my daughter turned 18, they claimed they didn't have a good address for her and even though I'm the guarantor, they turned me over to a collections agency again without ever sending me a bill beforehand. I absolutely love Northside Hospital and it's providers. The Business Office on the other hand, not so much. I reached out to the office regarding an outstanding balance which resulted from an ER visit last month. I clearly stated why I was calling but Monique seems to be lacking in the area of comprehension because her immediate response was to tell me how much the bill was and that my insurance had already been billed which did not answer my question at all. One of the ladies I spoke to about a past payment that should have been billed to my insurance said because I had signed an out of pocket waiver that I could not have it billed to my insurance after the fact. I was never told this would happen at the front desk. They told me my insurance and most insurance would not pay for a CT scan, which I find odd, but I didn't have time to look into it and proceeded to pay their special pricing and call later to have them bill my insurance. The hospital itself and the staff are amazing. The business office however, awful. I have been asking for a paper bill for weeks. They leave me a voicemail asking for payment over the phone. I CANNOT PAY WITHOUT A BILL. Give me a paper bill and I will pay. This is simple. Plus, when talking to individuals on the phone they are difficult on purpose. Why be difficult when people are willing to send you money?
