It's imperative you know what hospice is before you walk into it. It's not at all what you think. Had I known what little it offered, I should have had my mother in a hospice care center. Northshore Hospice got rid of their hospice center, and you'll see the good reviews are when that still existed. It's now strictly in home. While that may sound like what you would prefer, you wouldn't if you realized it only means a nurse comes one time a week to check on you. She visits, takes your vitals, and gives you a box of dru... read more

No one wants to have to use hospice services, but I would definitely choose this place if the need arose again. They are very caring people and provide very helpful support services for the family. They are integrated at Evanston hospital, so the transition was easy. I've had a great experience.

We realize now better options exist for emotional support. Due to poor communication and overall lack of organization of the agency I hesitate to recommend this agency. My mom was in the hospital and diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. She was NOT advised of other options for hospice. We now realize we should have used another agency. The initial intake occurred over a t... read more

Re: my sister. She received "care" from North Shore Hospice. Because the Social Worker Denise Zilcher did not pass on important requested information she did not get the funeral she wanted. I was naturally upset and grieving because of her death and the mistake made by the hospice so I requested grief therapy. I was at both scheduled sessions, the therapist was not. After being "stood up twice" I turned down their offers to reschedule. In my case this was a terrible breach of faith which caused long lasting pain. This review... read more
