I highly recommend OAC for anyone seeking compassionate and professional counseling for older adults. Their team is warm, knowledgeable, and truly understands the emotional and mental health challenges that come with aging, such as grief, isolation, and life transitions.
Huge warning!!! I recently learned from my current therapist that the therapist I saw here broke what you are taught not to do as a therapist. She used HER values and opinions that consequently, made me feel awful about myself instead of being supported and helpful. I cried when I learned this. It is hard to find the right fit but when you do, you will feel a comfort instead of shame. You will feel hopeful that your life can turn around. I definitely would recommend this place only for clients 60 and older. There are definitely different expectations for people who are younger and I don't think the same expertise for that age group. It is very hard to find a good fit for a therapist and I found the same issue here. I wish anyone needing help the best with finding someone who can provide them with the help that they are striving to get in order to get better. Hang in there, you are worth it!!!
