And I have high functioning autism , ADHD, When I first got there I couldn’t eat With out gagging on my food. This place was horrible and I was traumatized while being there.I got hit by other people. I was weak an had to go the bathroom and I asked for help to get up off the bed but no staff would help me so I soiled myself with pee. And there where plenty of times I ask for help to get up but the wouldn’t not help me up. But once they had a male staff help me get up while I was just in a pull up . I had the great pleasure of being entrusted with the position of Psychiatric Care Technician at NVMHI. I am deeply sorry to hear that some patients had a less than satisfactory experience as it is not what we strive for. I greatly respect your organization as a State-run mental facility and hospital providing critical care to patients of various backgrounds. I highly recommend Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute as a place of employment or for people to receive treatment as it is a place of caring.
