Outstanding, simple food – I've had two of my favorite meals ever here. It's not a fussy (or long) menu but everything I've tried has been perfect. Fresh ingredients, simple preparations, stunning results.

Lovely, comfortable food – I've had brunch here at couple of times and every time it's been great. The food is delicious, comforting and worth every cent. The ingredients taste fresh and are richly flavorful. I loved my eggs with polenta dish, which was a creamy, dreamy bowl of love, as well as as on another visit, when I tried poached eggs with potatoes and brisket - another winner in all its rich, supple goodness. Coffee's also great with plenty of refills, and the service is always friendly and that perfect balance of qui... read more

Unpretentious, Country Dining – Northern Spy was everything I thought it would be; warm, inviting, unpretentious, delicious and very affordable. Since it was a Sunday, I ordere... read more

However, this place really serves up amazingly organic dishes and I was pleasantly satisfied. The restaurant is very cozy and kind of small but intimate. They serve simple menu but it offers great locally grown food. I ordered the Country Ham Sandwich with a side of sauteed potato. The sandwich comes with a pickle and the sandwich itself... read more

Citysearch Editorial Review – Owners Christophe Hille and Nathan Foot both came from widely lauded San Francisco restaurants (A16 and Myth, respectively), and bring the Bay Area’s famous focus on seasonality and locally sourced ingredients to their relaxed East Village restaurant/artisanal market. In front, a small contemporary American menu filled with dishes like caramelized leeks topped with lemon and pecorino cheese, squid from Long Island and a savory country ham sandwich with pickled onions and whole-grain mustard is s... read more
