Not recommended I don't know what happened between the times of the good reviews in 2005 and now, but I would not recommend going here. I had a severed finger and it took them 6 hours to give me stitches. The admitting staff yelled at me as soon as I walked in to fill out paperwork to check in which I could not do as I'm right handed and my right index finger was severed; then they told me it was a 2 hour wait to be seen.... because they don't prioritize by severity of injury but rather whether or not you arrived by ambulanc... read more
Efficient This hospital has a recently remodeled emergency room. It is quite large and is staffed by efficient and knowledgeable staff. They are quick to see you and their facility is very modern.
My issue is with their billing practice. My wife was injured had we went to the er she had to have surgery and subsequently had to go to thier wound clinic. We received a **** from the wound clinic for her visits to that doctor ******** Nevada Medical Group) then another **** for the same visit from Northern Nevada Medical Center. When she called to inquire why she was getting two bills for the same visit and the different amount she was told that is just how they do it. I don't understand how they can be allowed to do busin... read more
While I totally appreciate all of our medical professionals during these extraordinary times, I feel obligated to share a recent experience in the ER of Northern Nevada Medical Hospital recently in an effort to potentially save lives. I went into the ER after a few days of vomiting and feeling dehydrated because once I am no longer able to hold down Zofran (nausea med) or Xanax I get dehydrated and I have in the past passed out. I have been told to come to ER when that happens before passing out. I am 65, asthmatic, diabetic... read more
Don't go here – Apparently the level of care has downgraded since the reviews posted here from 2005. I had a rather serious injury involving my right hand and was unable to write. When I walked in, I was actually YELLED at by the two women at the front desk to fill out a form before I could be seen. I explained I could not write as I'm right handed, and was met with indifference. Thank goodness my husband arrived shortly thereafter and was able to complete the form. At check in I was told it was a 2 hour wait. I asked her wh... read more
Exceptionally thorough staff. – I've received treatment only one time at NNMC. I cannot say enough about how impressed I was with the ER. The facility was spotless, all the equiptment appeared to be perfectly placed, and the staff is without peer. And I say all this in want of kinder words to express myself. In short, the NNMC is a genuine credit to the medical community. Sincerely, Steve Russell.
