We had a wonderful experience here in July 2025. I went in for an induction turned emergency C-section, due to complications outside of anyone's control. Our midwife, Marlaina from Optum, made very careful decisions throughout and she explained her thought process several steps in advance, so I knew what to expect. I gave birth to my first baby here two months ago and was cared for by such compassionate and knowledgeable staff. My husband and I learned so much from the nurses about how to care for our newborn. Each provider felt personally invested in my and my baby’s well being and comfort. Being that it was my first, I was very scared of how labor would unfold. Some nurses her are just terrible. My wife was in labor and had a great nurse who was so supportive and then her shift ended and the new nurse was the complete opposite. Not supportive at all. Her name was nurse Erin and she was the one who had the nose piercing. My wife requested not to be given Pitocin and we heard her joke and say to the midwife that she gave it to my wife anyways without her knowing 5 minutes after my wife asked not to receive it. It took me a while to finally write a review but I did not have a good experience here at all. The only thing that made this a decent experience was my husband advocating for me after giving birth until we were discharged from the birth center. He was adamant about not allowing our baby to be taken out of the room or out of my sight the whole time even when they kept trying to push for it when it was in my birth plan not to.
