I was told the melling 24203 cam was more aggressive then a mild cam (not) . Cam feels, sounds and puts out stock quality. I was also told the regular gaskets that come with the kit were good and no need to upgrade. Pan gasket didnt even line up with bolt holes correctly and another gasket was sent folded and cracked. That dont know their ish so dont go based off what they tell you.
Ordered a master kit for my 87 Iroc Z 5.7. upgraded cam to roller and lifters. Went ahead and ordered new set of push rods and the proform roller tip rockers. Upon install, the he push rods were to long and the roller tip rockers were incorrect. You'd think spending over $1500 Northern would've had the courtesy to call and. Let me know I was making an order that would not work together. Nope they just sent the wrong shit. Needless to say they will not get any more business from me, when I rebuild my 74 Nova.
Our son ordered a rebuild kit for a 283 Chevy standerd and they sent him the wrong one called and they said that’s what you ordered and hung up on him poor poor company communication he even has order information on his phone so he is outta almost 600.00

Their new website is horrible you can't find anything that's needed, the old website was very user friendly. Update 10-2-24 I ordered a set of valves on 9-24-24 I hadn't received any type of notification from Northern Auto parts so I called today and I was told we didn't have the valves in stock we had to order them and we should get them in a couple of days then we'll ship them out. If they can't fill my order let me know. Did Northern change owners or something because they were never this this bad.
