I had the displeasure of interacting with my father’s case worker today. Her name was Sharnice. This post pertains to elder care. She was more interested in lying to me about my “familial responsibilities” than understanding the truth of the situation. I want everyone to know that if you have a loved one on Medicare or Medicaid, and if you cannot are are not able to provide them with the care needed for their survival, then the state cannot make you do so. My husband came to the emergency room on Saturday because we were afraid that he was having his third heart attack at the age of 72. Because of his medical history even though the initial test results were negative for a heart attack, he was placed in the Cardiac Observation Unit for observation overnight. I cannot express enough that every person that we came in contact with from the ER to the Cardiac unit were so compassionate and kind. Exemplary performance. I cannot express my thankfulness enough.
