N e Baptist San Antonio May 12, 2023 I know there is a shortage of medical workers. I am truly grateful for those workers who actually show up to work. I thank them regularly. I went into this with a positive attitude. I am scheduled for procedure on Friday. I show up on Wednesday for pre admission labs and paperwork. As requested. The admission clerk was coughing all over. No mask or plexi with only half attempt to cover top of nose. I was sent to lab where they bruised me, it looks horrible. I was there 20 hours and Dr hadn’t wrote orders! I’m on daily meds that can’t be skipped. At 5 am after checking my weight at 12 , the nurses came in insisting I get up after sleeping 1 hour to weigh me. Well she had attached an alarm to my shirt , when I swung my legs over the alarm went off in my ear. Scaring me. My heart rate was already 126 and it jumped to over 170. But no beta blockers yet! As someone who comes from a family with a long line of nurses, doctors, hospital administrators and other family in other medical occupations. This is something I DO NOT TAKE LIGHTLY. I know what it’s like first hand in the hospitals. I’ve seen the frustrations and I know they are short handed. Putting a bad review is the last thing I want to do. But here I am.
