For many, many years, I have taken my kitty cats to see Dr. Lee Darch at North Wake Animal Hospital in Wake Forest. He is an excellent vet, his staff was always very kind and helpful, and the prices were very reasonable. Unfortunately, after Dr. Darch left North Wake Animal Hospital many things changed. I went there twice and each time I saw a different, but caring vet, both of which have since left the practice. Loved going there when Dr. Darch and Alice were there. Now it's more like a walmart, check in and check you out fast as possible.
Dr. Teresa Danford recently left the vet I had been using, but I trust her so much I moved my pets to North Wake. At my previous vet I had a cat that had been diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy and when Dr. T has seen him she questioned the diagnosis and referred me to a heart specialist for an echo cardiogram. I took him for the appointment and discovered that there was absolutely nothing wrong with him and we had been giving him a pill daily for 5 years and limiting his play. The check in desk staff were very friendly and I only waited a few minutes before seeing the doctor. Dr. Danford was awesome, straight forward and to the point and very caring. My first visit with Dr. Danford and I knew right away I wanted her to treat all my pets from now on. She performed emergency surgery on my pet and now he is doing great. This place use to be a great vet. Now that it has been taken over by a corporate group the service has declined. They can't seem to keep good vets there. We finally found one we liked and he only stayed a couple of months. I think that says a lot about how this place is run now. the prices have gone through the roof and the wait is ridiculous now. I'm going to see Dr. Darch in Kittrell. An extra 15 minute drive is worth it!
I am sad to say that since Lee Darch left North Wake Animal Hospital, the place has gone to the dogs. Pun intended. You wait forever, even if the waiting room is empty. Oral meds for my senior dog doubled in price at once. The caring is just not there. It is run now by an out of state corporation who is interested only in making money. I think I will be making the drive to Kittrell to see Dr. Darch. I want a vet who loves animals and cares about them.
I have been a long time client of Dr. Darch and was very sad to learn that he is no longer with the clinic. The town has lost a wonderful vet! His years of unwavering service at all hours of day or night will not be forgotten. He was so practical, reliable and caring for my animals and for many many animals within the greater Wake Forest community. He will be sorely missed.
Highly Recommend!! – Dr. Darch knows what he is doing!! He has performed several surgeries for me over the years on several animals, including the removal of an eye due to glaucoma, removal of a toe due to bone infection, spay, ear crop, and cyst removal. Each and every one of those surgeries was done well and healed properly. They were also done at real world prices that were affordable especially in an emergency situation.
