Four years ago, my son was having a difficult time with reading comprehension. The therapists here are amazing to work with. They took a detailed history and conducted a thorough age appropriate assessment. From there, they executed a plan of care that included themselves (the therapists), our son, his teacher and us as parents. We were provided with goals and once those goals were met, we got a home program to continue. Four years ago, our son was diagnosed with fluency disorder. We knew nothing about it at the time and as a parent that’s a very scary situation to be in. We were so lucky to find Laura. She patiently walked us through every step of the process and was our sons biggest advocate. He absolutely adores her, and so do we. She has restored his confidence when speaking and we are forever grateful to her.
Ms. Laura is a wonderful speech therapist! Our son started stuttering at 2 years old and we were very concerned about his speech. Ms. Laura put our worries at ease from the very beginning of our journey. She not only provided excellent therapy for our son, but taught us the strategies and gave us the tools to help improve his speech at home. I cannot recommend Ms. Sheppard more highly — our daughter Mae received speech therapy over a two year period, in Kinder and 1st, with Ms. Sheppard and we were absolutely wowed with Mae’s progress, the innovative techniques and best practices that Ms. Sheppard uses, but, above all else, how FUN she made it for Mae.
