Went in to purchase some maintenance supplies for my Mercury outboard motor. Parts person couldn't figure out which oil filter was the correct one. Another person was asked to help, he gave me a filter and insisted it was the right one, i stated it was too large and then he agreed. He then said this is the right one, I said the diameter seemed correct but it was too long. Very friendly and helpful before and after my boat purchase.
I don't like posting negatively but think this is important info to share with others. I brought my boat in for a Motorguide trolling motor repair because I had a good experience with North Country when I bought the motor 10 years ago. I was told by Jeremy it would take a few days to assess and then maybe 1-2 weeks to repair or replace depending on parts/motor availability, which I thought was fair. These guys advertise stock on multiple outboards to get you in, but they don’t have them. Just try to upsell you on newer, much more expensive items. Very dishonest. Verify before you waste your time.
