Went in to purchase some maintenance supplies for my Mercury outboard motor. Parts person couldn't figure out which oil filter was the correct one. Another person was asked to help, he gave me a filter and insisted it was the right one, i stated it was too large and then he agreed. He then said this is the right one, I said the diameter seemed correct but it was too long.
