Excellent service! Don't understand the negative comments. You literally have to go there, write a simple form, hand it over, along with your ID and payment, and within 2 minutes you are out of the building. Also, very polite and courteous staff.

After experiencing what I did. I agree with every negative review here. The people working here are rude, nasty and have no interest in public service. Do yourself a favor and don't do anything in North Bergen that will have you dealing with this office. Don't have a baby, get married etc. my husband went to pick up my daughters birth certificate and they literally were like ohh look, another one with a mistake, how many is there now? The lady at the front is so rude with the biggest attitude. I was asked to bring original copies for my birth certificate. Once I came to pick up, she tells me “the state” keeps my moms original copies. Since when? Once i asked for the states number and kept on asking How are they going to keep my moms documents when its not theres she finally gets up to check around and finds my papers. These people are so lazy I swear !!

Called before come in. Was told no appointment needed for license, it’s only needed for the second time. But when we invited the witness and arrived, we were told we need the appointment even for the first time. Nowadays making a notice on website is not so difficult… Anyone who wants to get married in North Bergen, just go there first to have all the rules figured out. It’s even less efficient to call and ask, plus there is definitely no online document to show you what to do.
