I called North American as I was needing to access my accounts online and was having issues. Called in and chose to leave my number for a call back. Within an hour I had a call back from a great customer service rep named Devin. He worked with me and we identified the problem and got it resolved. He sent me some information and that led to some back and forth and he was super responsive and attentive. Was very patient with me and guiding me to what I needed. North American Company deserves 0 star for their services. Their customer service puts you on hold for hours and never returns any of the emails I sent. I have a 403b account with them. As soon as my contract ends, I will take my money and run. In the past 2 months, I have talked to at least 7 different customer service representatives to resolve a simple matter. They are feckless and useless. After 10 phone calls the problem is still unresolved. WARNING: Do NOT purchase anything from NOA. They are short staff and will ignor... read more

I have two life insurance policies with North American, a term and a universal. A few years ago, the term expired on the universal policy, and the premiums began creeping up, as expected. This week I got my annual invoice for the term policy with a huge increase in the premiums - more than twice the monthly rate of the universal policy for the same coverage. I called for information on my policies and my customer service rep, Tara, was very helpful. She answered all my questions in a professional manner. Doing business with North American Co. was a pleasure.

I had to repeatedly call to make additional payments on a policy that was being automatically paid quarterly. No explanation was given each time as to why the extra payment. This past week I finally contacted Angie Heinemann at NAC and she was marvelous. In a brief conversation she clarified the issue and established a new quarterly payment for me.

Renae H did a great job helping us with our questions about a life insurance policy. She helped us identify what would be the best way to obtain scenario's for working through our planning issues. She provided forms and copies of the policy sections we needed. Renae was very pleasant and went above and beyond.

If you look at the reviews here, all reviews about customer service are positive and are answered by North American Life but the actual refusal of death benefit negative review is unanswered. hahaha! People don't buy life insurance because of good customer service but because of solid life insurance policies. This proves what kind of company North American life is. Don't buy policies from this company. If you really need life insurance go to good mutual companies like Mass Mutual. Good luck to all policy holders of this comp... read more

Mason did a terrific job helping me today. I needed a lot of explanation and probably asked the same question more than once. He was patient and kind during the whole (long) conversation. Kudos to Mason!
