Amazing beautiful dining experience - nothing but the best - anyone who says otherwise is out of their minds!
So...NR's has been our go to place for breakfast, for sometime now. But just as we've given great reviews in the past, and spread its excellent qualities by word of mouth, so must we give the not so stellar reviews as well...sadly! Something has caused this establishment to change. A local institution - best breakfast in Manatee County and one of the best breakfasts anywhere! Worth the drive from anyplace in the area.
Absolutely our favorite place to go for breakfast. You'll never leave hungry or break the bank. Lauren is absolutely the best. Like any family-owned restaurant you'll have the occasional hiccup but the food is amazing. I love the "flea market style" decor. This place is local favorite for a reason. In season, you have to get there before 8:30 or you will definitely be waiting for a table but that's the sign of a great restaurant. They know how to make good grits too! My husband and I ate there yesterday. My vegetable omelette was small, tasteless, and contained mostly green peppers. I received seven pieces of potato for home fries. The toast was late. They were out of to go cups. My husband's club sandwich made him sick. They charge extra for too many things. Palmetto, go over the bridge and eat at Sage Biscuit. It's way better and you get your money's worth. We will never go to Norma Rae's again, and it wasn't our first time.
Heard lots of good things about this place... Our experience yesterday, (Sunday).. Not so much. I ordered bacon and eggs, American fries with onions and sourdough toast (very dark) - first of all, my toast came out pretty much untoasted and cold, and the "extra charge" onions were pretty much non existent, and what was there were the frozen diced kind - yuck.
