Authentic home-style Japanese food This is a mom-and-pop style restaurant with contemporary and traditional Japanese decor inside. The food is quite pricey here, but worth giving a try. They serve traditional home-style Japanese food such as udon, Japanese curry, grille fish, etc, so no sushi here.
very mom and pop such a small restaurant. The food does taste like ma and pa type food and if you have that kind of craving this place will probably do you well. The only thing that bothers me is how small it is - makes me want to go right when it opens and no other time.
Like you're transported to Japan. – I felt like I was in a family's kitchen. And I should know - I was in Japan three weeks ago in my family's kitchen. It's just really nice and homey at Norikonoko, and the food is delicious. One tip: We Americans like to customize our food, but I wouldn't do that here. What's on the menu is what's on the menu. I'd encourage you to just order what sounds good and enjoy.
My favorite Japanese cuisine It seems to be a literal Mom & Pop restaurant. Small, but cozy, with a real shoji-screen sliding door entrance.
Authentic food, atmosphere – Walking into Norikonoko is like walking into an old retaurant in Japan. The owners are great. The atmosphere is seriously like being in a family restaurant in Japan. The food is good, very authentic. If you like fusion or trendy Japanese food, this isn't for you. But if you crave authentic old fashioned food, this is it. And if this is your first time going, the door slides to the right...
