Dr. Shumway was professional and articulate. She explained my problem and identified the immediate solutions to begin improving my skin. She answered all my questions and was genuinely understanding of my feelings from battling acne. I am more hopeful that I will see results and look forward to my next visit.
I really liked Dr. Shumway. Unlike many physicians, she actually valued my input. When I came in with my own likely diagnosis, she actually listened and agreed. Of course, not being a dermatologist, I wasn't 100% certain and she was able to confirm that my own research was valid. Any time one feels validated rather than devalued or talked down to, this is a good thing. She took the time to comfort and reassure me about treatment and absolutely told no fibs! Professional, knowledgeable, efficient! She was patient and listened. She gave thoughtful answers and did not speak down to me, above my head, or assumed I already knew something because I am part of the medical community. VERY happy!!
She put me at ease the moment she came in. Personable but confident, and she explains everything so well in laymen's terms! Great eye contact, professional but friendly. Exactly what I look for in a doctor!
