The best "before", "after" or "instead of" theater nook – Continental cuisine with French/Polish twist. Very atmospheric place (unless they are very busy). Food is great and the bill is very reasonable considering BYOB

Poor service, cramped, claustrophobic – Never going back here again. First off, the name is right, it is a "nook." Which could be kind of cute, there are some great small restaurants in the city, but in this one the tables are packed in one against each other. It's practically communal dining. There is only server -- no room for any others -- so you'll be waiting forever for a refill on your coffee. Lastly, the service is terrible. After 30 minutes of waiting we inquired as to status of our brunch order. He had forgotten to ... read more

Eh... Take the No out of Nook... and you just get... OK. – Went here about a year ago before a show. Can't say that I loved it... it was very small and the menu was a bit limited for my sometimes fickle tastes. Lots of dishes that involved mushrooms (I'm not a fungus gal!). When it says Nook.. they're not kidding. The owner was pleasant and the meal was prepared correctly. I imagine if I was still dating the same person, I would probably keep an open mind and try it again for brunch... but with so many other options for dinn... read more

Suc a great restaurant with BYOB – I went to Nook yesterday for brunch, they do not take reservations for brunch but I told them it was a party of 6 so they were expecting us. Yes, it is tiny, you must make reservations. The food is amazing, they kept our 2 bottles of wine on ice, the guy was so nice. I love it there. The apple pancakes and peanutbutter pie are to die for. Take my advice, go and enjoy! No corkage fee.

Great Brunch – What a cute place for brunch. Been there many times over the past two years. The food is great, especially on a Sunday morning. Service is good, but the place is tiny. You just have to get lucky and come when there is no one there.

Fantastic Italian! – Nook is about the greatest little Italian restuarant I have ever been to. The mushroom truffle eggrolls are to die for. All the entrees were delicious, I personally had the ribs. This is one of the few restaurants where I would recommend nearly everything on the menu. Insider tips: It is BYOB and has a capacity of about 20 people so go during a down time.

Will always be a favorite of mine! Give it a chance! – Nook has been a favorite of mine for 2-3 years. I found it in Time Out NY while living in the neighborhood and chose it for a pre-theater dinner with a friend from out of town. We had the mushroom cigars to start. I have to say that I HATE mushrooms but LOVE Nook's mushroom cigars. I've ordered them every time I've been there. The steak frites dish is fantastic, great balsamic sauce and rosemarry seasoning on the fries. The chicken, tuna, lamb, and goulash are also wonde... read more

Hidden gem! – When you walk into this tiny, cozy restaurant, you will forget that you're in hell's kitchen. Great ambiance, excellent excellent food, and you can bring your own wine. The only drawback is that you'll have to deal with the rude waitress! What a shame...

BYOB saves some bucks – I came here with a friend for an evening of drinking, dining, and discussion. The food was great, appetizers and entrees were standard bistro fare, and the vibe was comfy - a little on the edge of cramped. The only bad part was that this place closes WAY to early because they don't serve booze. We were ushered out promptle at 11pm.
