I sought out Dr. Urukalo for a second opinion on my bunions. Rather than recommending surgery right away, she listened and wanted to try other alternatives since I was not in pain. We did that for a few months and ultimately decided surgery was best. Her and her office worked diligently to get surgery scheduled quickly so that I could be recovered by my nephew’s wedding. Dr. Urukalo is fabulous! In today's medical world she is one of a kind. A true "diamond in the rough". She is unbelievably thorough, explains things in layman's terms after informing you of your condition in medical terms, and most of all follows up with you on your path to recovery. I have never had a physician call me after hours on her personal cell phone to answer questions, provide updated status (MRI reviews, etc.), and inspiration. Additionally, her staff is wonderfully personable, professional, and expeditious.
Really great experience overall and will return in the future as needed! Office was efficient, clean and kind staff. The doctor did a great job asking me questions about my health and experience and in explaining the procedure to me in a very easy to understand way. I even got a squishmello to hug as a distraction and super clear communication each stage of the small protons for follow up care.
Dr Urukalo makes you feel like family, she really takes care of you. She called me after hours to check up on my condition. Totally goes above and beyond. I highly recommend her and her clinic, the staff is great too.
Dr. Urukalo was recommended by my brother, who is a surgeon in Austin. My mom and I both had appointments with her and we were both blown away with how amazing of a doctor Dr. Urukalo is. She truly loves her work and cares deeply about her patients (as does her staff).
