Had an appointment today for my son to get cornrows in his hair at 9am. I called the day before to confirm and was asked to come for 8am. I got there at 7:50am and the lights were off, door locked. I waited until 815am without any communication and called the braider “Da Janae” who stated she passed out sick last night and was running late. Earlier this year, I went to NOLABRAIDER in Slidell to have my knotless boho braids removed, and unfortunately it was not the best experience. During the removal process, a significant amount of my own natural hair was accidentally cut along with the extensions. I ended up having to do a big chop afterwards — something I never planned for. I went in to get a estimate done she gave me a estimate of $200 but the thing about it my hair is shaved on the sides and on the back so I only have hair at the top and she wants to charge me $200 for that. That's so unacceptable and that's why I really don't deal with black people when it comes to doing business.
