Went to the Water Bang Bang event and collaboration between Nixta and Loa'd Bar. What a fantastic evening. It showcased the highlights of both places in back to back 3 course meals. There wasn't a single misstep in their menu planning and execution. The duck carnitas taco was delicious and the Denver steak hit all the right notes with the aguachile negro but those fresh tomatoes in the beginning were perfect. This place is good, but it needs to get back to basics. I get that creativity is part of earning a Michelin star, and the food is genuinely high quality—but I'd love to see a straightforward taco on the menu. What they're serving is inventive and surprisingly good, but it costs three times what a local taco truck charges. Is it three times better? No. Just add some carne asada tacos to the lineup, and I'm confident it'd blow me away. No caviar required.

Really great neighborhood spot. I love the elevated take on dishes and how it fits so well into the community. This is our go to spot to take the parents when they’re in town
This is my favorite spot in Austin, the food is amazing but the hospitality is top notch. I was traveling from Dallas and I asked for an extra habanero sauce (I always love taking one home) and the sweetest lady brought me a bottle. So special and gestures like this are priceless. Will come back every time
