Dr didn’t give me a thought checkup. Gave me a shot, prescribed physical therapy and sent me on the way in15 minutes or less. Charged insurance $1700 for the visit. $180 for physical therapy which I never received. Would not recommend this office.
Office appointments and follow ups were brief, and often home-care wasn't really addressed or discussed unless I knew to ask the question in advance. That being said, I chose Dr. Nissen because of surgical work reviews, and I've been very pleased with it at this point (moved to weight bearing status and on to PT recovery). I'll be able to return to my sport in relatively minimal time, and while things cut into my season more than I would have liked, I was prepared for it from the start.
My only complaint is he's in and out of the visit very quickly and he's pretty quiet. That being said the important thing is his surgical skills and I was a mess going in. He was straight forward and told me I was so bad he wasn't sure how I would heal. Well I'm not 100% but I am very happy with the results he did magic on me and thank god for his training. Through therapy and other doctor exams they've all said how bad my my injury was and Dr. NIssen had used every trick in the book to fix me.
I went with my father to the appointment and not only was he condescending, he did not bother to review my father's medical chart before he walked in to the room. He offered unwarranted opinions about my father's age.
