My family had a wonderful experience with NINH. The process to be evaluated was straight forward, and they were able to begin therapy for my child much sooner than other places local to me who had an eight month waitlist. Every week, two therapists worked closely with my child and always kept me up-to-date on how she was doing and had suggestions/strategies for the upcoming week. I reached out to this practice in good faith to request an evaluation and was immediately denied care solely based on my prior conviction. There was no attempt to assess me as an individual, no discussion of options, and no effort to provide a referral or help me find another provider. What stood out most was the lack of professionalism and the absence of any willingness to engage or even consider my situation. I do not recommend having your child evaluated at NINH. In September, I brought my 3-year-old son in to be evaluated for autism and ADHD after almost a year of behavioral struggles and limited progress despite ongoing speech and occupational therapy. During the appointment, our son was in a small room with one evaluator (and another who followed us in).
