I give up. This restaurant used to be our go to night out. The meal we had today will be our last. Overcooked duck, and scallops that smell so bad we couldn’t eat them. Quality has been slipping for years, but we held and tired to give them the benefit of the doubt. Tonight was too much. Goodbye 9 Elm.
Went to 9 Elm on Wednesday for a birthday dinner with a friend. She ordered the filet mignon and me the pork chop. Both were mouthwatering and cooked to perfection! The pork chop was served on a bed of delicious chipotle mashed sweet potatoes along with a side of asparagus and carrots. We did order the stuffed dates also for an appetizer…Yum! First time here and we had a table for 8. Everyone was very satisfied and was so efficient it felt like we were a table for four. We can't wait to return soon and are planing our next visit.👍👍
Great cozy atmosphere. Pretty small and intimate. The person taking care of me Saturday night with an above the shoulder length hair was excellent. Knowledgeable about allergies as I have a dairy allergy and it was easy to order with them. I highly recommend the filet mignon! I switched the sides to accurate my allergy. The asparagus was really delicious though! Along with the potatoes. I’m glad I got the sauce on the side however because it was a bit sweet. Lemon sorbet is the only dairy free option available.
The food was good and above expectations for Danvers, the service and restaurant experience was below average; not high end, but townie and unrefined.
