Dr FYnn Thompson was friendly in my initial consult. I was told I needed Two cataracts done. I opted to have my dominant eye fixed. There was no discussion around “you should wait until you’re older” or “many people get dry eye from this surgery” or any of the other struggles associated with this surgery. It was performed on me in my early fifties, and from what I am told, was completely unnecessary, and may never have been. I did not opt to do my other eye as I wanted to see how this panned out. Dr. Fynn-Thompson performed cataract surgery (one eye) on me in January 2023. I had a total of five visits: a pre-op consultation, the procedure itself, and three follow-up visits. Of course she's technically competent. Lots of physicians are technically competent, and lots of people don't look any further. Beyond that, though, she also showed herself to be a caring human being. Not every technically competent physician is that. Very thorough. Seems to care about the patient. Highly competent. Also tries to get to know the patient and deals with the patient's concerns accordingly. I felt very comfortable having her do my cornea transplant.
