Inconsistent Quality, Long Waits, Rude Management – On our last visit, we waited 35-40 minutes for a booth. We were offered sushi bar seats, but declined due to the noise and long waits there. We got a booth and were greeted by a rude server. Our attention soon shifted to the next booth and the SHRIEKING child occupying. The noise continued and I asked our server if the manager would mind asking the parents to be considerate of other diners. She came back, saying the manager had replied that we could 'go to the sushi bar.' I... read more
Getting Better – I used to come here when it first opened years ago and truly enjoyed the experience. Overtime the quality began to go down. I recently decided to give it another shot and I'm happy I did. They still have the Tuesday $1 sushi nights. The quality and presentation has gone up dramatically. Note: This isn't traditional sushi like Hashiguchi, Sushi Huku or Imari. It's what I like to call fun sushi. It is tons fresher than RuSans. The atmosphere is mixed and fun. Dress is casual to dressy casual. Good for dates & ... read more
Delicious, Casual, Fun – Always a treat. Great servers, food, and ambience! Try the dragon roll or yami yami, they're the best. Purple Haze sake is great for cold nights!
hot date restaurant & yummy food – The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great! Tip - if you have an Entertainment Guide coupon book, you save big here. If you buy the book, what you save with using the coupong just for this restaurant pays for the book.
Crowds flock to the sleek Midtown sushi bar with flashy style and flamboyant pan-Asian treats. – In Short Strategically located on Midtown's power corner, this fast-paced, noisy bistro combines a dance-club sensibility, an eye-catching sushi bar and a fun, bamboo-covered patio. The interior features stage set lights, primary colors and free-floating decorative panels. But the action is at the sushi bar, located inside an ellipsoid wood-and-steel tower. Heavily Americanized sushi offers your best bet, since even no-nonsense b... read more
Great for lunch – Consistent sushi and wide variety of other Asian foods, so those who like to experiment will have a good time as well as those just going for sushi. Much better for lunch - less crowded, choice of tables, and better service.
hip joint – slow tuesday night for a 1st timer at this trendy joint. get a booth if you can, they are great! this place is kinda posh for a sushi restaurant...and of course it's location, both of which equal higher than normal sushi prices.
Edible art???? – If you've never had sushi prepared by a true sushi-chef(minimum of seven years of study),then you'll probably enjoy the sushi here and anywhere else they "crank out" the food with no attention to detail, textures,or presentation. A true sushi-dining experience is a combination of atmosphere, the sushi chef engaging in conversation with you as he/she prepares your order with high quality seafood and other ingredients.
WEAK – I had a veg dish w/ tofu & veggies, the tofu was about half-cooked & the veggies were limp & swimming in sauce. My sis had some sushi & some noodles both were sub-par, avoid the hype & rep this place has & treat yourself to something good.
