Nick's Place Has the Best food I've been ordering food from Nick's for years. I love their food and now they have added a lot more food to their menu. Try Nick's in Winthrop you won't be disappointed.
Pricey Pizzaria I chose Nick's Place today, because hardly anything else in Winthrop is open on Sundays. I was dissappointed to see that two dinner platter(one cheeseburger and one roastbeef) came to $18. However, when the food arrived at my door I was pleasantly suprised. The dinners were ENORMOUS..and they even supplied an entire pita for the little side salad. PROS: huge portions CONS: pricey
Mixed Review? I've lived in Winthrop since 1998 (actually longer than that, but had a couple of brief periods where I've lived elsewhere). I've been ordering from Nick's for as long as I can remember. I absolutely loved the food, service and prices. Excellent Greek food. Lightning fast service. Nick's Place specializes in Greek food. The Pizza is fantastic - nice and thick. It's formatted as a sub shop but the menu is something you'd see in a resturant due to it's unusual size,offering unique things such as Chicken Quesidella, Linguica, party tray pizzas etc. They are popular for their chicken kabob salads, and ultra fast service. Like food, but not delivery service I just had food delivered from Nicks, and the they charged me a $1.50 delivery fee, which the driver told me does not get handed over to him. I called a few other restaurants in town (Crest Ave, Paesans, Hone Kong Dragon), and they all told me that they hand over the "delivery fees" (sometimes called Fuel Surcharges) to the drivers ... so I assumed that Nicks did the same. I love this place I just found this place a few weeks back and I have to say that it is great. I have been there at least twice a week and every time what ever is ordered is excellent. Check out the daily specials. They have everything from pizza to seafood. Nicks Place you have a loyal customer :)
Delivery Driver clipped my dog's butt and gave me the finger I have had a few meals from Nicks. So so as far as neighborhood food goes. Wouldn't bad mouth it, but I just had a delivery driver from nick's get crazy at an intersection of a public parking lot in Winthrop. I stepped over a snow bank at the entrance with a large dog in tow. The delivery driver went forward and sideswiped my dog;s butt. I yelled, he stopped (white car...) I yelled again..he drove off and gave me the finger.
Been around forever, but still a teen hangout Love the food, Costa is always friendly and amicable toward his patrons. Went in this past week with my spouse to have dinner at the new location and loved the super fast service, great food, and friendly staff-but despite the new location it is still a teen hangout.
