They complicated a simple appraisal on a ring. I dropped it off and was told the appraiser would be in later that week, to stop back. I left a $50 deposit. When I returned, I kid you not, I was asked "what is it worth?" You see, it was a somewhat unique ring. I think they were trying to determine sentimental value, or to attach a higher price om it since it;s not the kind of jwelry you can just buy anywhere.
