Outstanding Took my sister here for her birthday. We had the tasting menu and wine pairings. To summarize: the food lives up to the hype but the service is not on par. That said, I will definitely be going back. Food: Just wonderful. There are very few chefs in St. Louis who do the creative new american thing well, and Mr. Craft is great. Everything was really tasty, even if it sounded odd on paper, and well-portioned. Service: It was only average, and I expect better from a restaurant with this reputation (and these prices)... read more

#1 in STL – Niche has found it niche as the best restaurant in St. Louis. The interior design is sophisticated and contemporary with a casual elegance. The cusine is new American -- fresh farm to table. Gerard Craft and his staff deliver a cosmopolitan experience with superb quality and care. Love it!!

Overall our experience was good at Niche. The disappointing part was also the most important part. Each of our meals were at least $30.00 per plate and we all left hungry. I get being "chic" but c'mon. I won't be back nor will I recommend this place. Go to Frazier's down the street. Same prices but MUCH better food and you won't need to drive thru Hardee's on the way home!!

The valet service they use is Midwest Valet and serveral of the employees have had their checks bounce or have had trouble getting paid. Several have had to quit because they never got their paychecks. I would be concerned about a valet that was disgruntled and may take their frustration out on my car. You would think a fine restaurant like Niche would be more concerned about the services they hire for their customers.

Wonderful food, excellent service – Went there last month on a Thursday evening. The food was absolutely divine (the scallops and side dishes were to die for!) our waitress was wonderful, very attentive - we will be back. Only disappointment is that they don't do lunches at Niche restaurant itself- they have a casual bakery next door though.

Urban Eatery in Cozy Benton Park – I've eaten at many of the recommended restaurants listed on this site from Eleven Eleven Mississippi, Sydney Street, and Vin De Set, and I would put Niche right up there. If you're looking for some place to be romantic, go the extra block or two to Sydney Street. Niche is very urban and in my opinion, very congested. There is not too much of a bar there to wait until being seated. In fact, you might get knocked over by the door as it opens. However, the bartenders are wonderful, insightful,... read more

Not a Good experience – Not a good experience at all. Atmosphere was decent, but the tables are jammed together and there is almost no privacy. I had the Halibut, and it was like eating card board. No flavor at all. Also, my date had the ribeye steak. First off, I dont know how you serve ribeye as and entre, and secondly, it was flat and flavorless as well. Also, it ended up being way too pricey. I had high expectations, but it ended up being a huge disappointment.
