I had an emergency surgery with Dr. Hughes. When I arrived from Prineville, she was excellent at explaining options to me in my somewhat drug induced (given at ER before transport to Redmond) state, She deftly removed my disintegrated gall bladder, getting all the fragments on the first go. She was compassionate and encouraging through my recovery. And she has a great staff of nurses and other professionals backing her up.
ZERO stars. I was admitted to hospital from ER and they called her in. She said I needed emergency surgery RIGHT NOW or I'll lose more bowel and/or maybe die. I and asked if she called ANY of my 3 prior surgeons or my current GI because I am a HIGH RISK SURGERY CANDIDATE. She said no, "they are not here examining you." She admitted she did not call anyone, lied about my internal anatomy and didnt realize that I've had this problem going back 11 years and was in need fluids and pain control. I wish this Dr. could be my primary care Dr.. She is very skilled and professional, yet Dr. Hugh's has a way of making you really knows she cares. I had a bowel obstruction a few yrs back and she actually saved my life. Rebecca E..
Dr. Hughes is a surgeon doing colonoscopies. As a patient with family history of colon cancer I would expect a revisit in 3 years. She recommends 5. She did not communicate well with me so I do not know if that is right. The pre-screening visit included asking me if I was going to be a difficult patient. I thought she might have issues with older men. Had a hematoma from surgery had a ultrasound done they found it in the area she said there’s nothing wrong with me and never read the report or the lab report showing low red blood cell count said it was in my head and said I was causing her and her staff anxiety
Nice lady but left a plastic tube in me and refuse's to take responsibility.
Dr Ngocthuy T Hughes saved my life 5 1/2 yrs ago. I had lost 65 lbs and had no idea what was going on. Was referred to her for testing and she knew from the start that I needed a GI Dr. She helped get me on the right path for my health. She has great listening skills and lots of Empathy! I would refer her to everyone! Thank you, Dr Hughes!
Dr Hughes performed my gastric band surgery in 2009. It is now. 2016 and I am still happy and healthy. I've lost 85 lbs with no complications. I would recommend her to anyone who wants their surgery done right the first time. She is a wonderful doctor.
