Get directionsIT'S GREAT HOSPITAL I AGREE BUT THERE IS THIS DOCTOR IN THE ER DEPARTMENT WHO KNEW THAT MY SON IS ALLERGIC TO THIS SPECIFIC ANTIBIOTIC AND INSISTED TO GAVE IT TO HIM AND TOLD ME AND MY SON THAT HE WILL BE FINE BUT MY SON NEVER FINE AFYER THAT. THE ALLERGIC REACTION WERE SO SEVERE THAT MY SON STILL SUFFERING UNTILL NOW. IT'S BEEN 3 YEARS NOW. DOCTORS CANNOT GAMBLE WITH PATIENTS LIFE.
This hospital has been my parent's local hospital for 80 years. There are some great nurses and doctors, and also many who are very lax and the ER is often backed up leaving patients in hallways and unattended. I've witnessed fall risk patients left unaided when they needed timely assistance. I'm not sure what the remedy is, but if you can, please ensure you or someone is there to help advocate for proper care.
Overall, my experience at New York-Presbyterian included both positive and challenging moments. Some members of the staff were respectful, supportive, and attentive, and I appreciated the care and professionalism I received from them. There were moments where I felt understood and treated with dignity, which helped during a difficult time.
