I had a colonoscopy this week and I had a mixed experience. The two nurses that I dealt with were great. However, the man that attempted twice to put an iv in was not good. The nurse and I were in the room when he entered. Right away I sensed something odd about the way he was moving about. He seemed gittery with pronounced body and awkward movements. Aside from the 3+ hour wait in emergency, I had a great experience here. Once I called by the nurses and they severity of my issue was acknowledged everyone was super kind and diligent. I didn't wait long for scans, labs or for a doctor to review findings with me. Any questions that I had were answered and I met with all the doctors involved in my case within 2 hours of being in a room. I came for help with chronic pain and felt as though I was given a dismissive attitude. I sat for 2 hours writhing in pain until I decided to leave and go to another hospital. The nurse Caroline was cold and just said ok to me leaving. Even more evidence I wasn’t believed.
