Al and Kia are a great team. Had a fantastic time on their boat.
We loved our experience with NewportKat! Working with Kia to arrange our trip was a breeze and she and Captain Al were super friendly and professional onboard. Would happily come back!
I have sailed with Al & Kia twice now and am looking forward to our next sail, Summer 2021! First for a bachelorette party and next just for a half-day sail with some friends. Both trips far exceeded our expectations, and more than anything, Kia and Al are great company to have on the catamaran. Al is an extremely experienced sailor, and we felt very comfortable with him at the helm. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a day on the water!
Al is a legend. Period. Season was winding down and Al rose up for my crew to take us on the water without hesitation. He welcomed us on his boat, gave us a brief history lesson, and then took us on one of the most memorable experiences of our life. BEWARE and sail with this company at your own risk. This charter puts his customers/crew in DANGER and other sailors on the water in DANGER: We were sailing toward Newport Harbor in channel near Castle Hill and AlyKat came from behind (on same tack), overtaking me and person at helm told me I needed to get out of his way. He would "not alter his course" (we were certain to collide). He said he was in the "rules" to not change his course. I changed my course to avoid a collision.
